Mr. Seymour Bones

Happy Halloween,

Well I just had to make one more Halloween card today.  I love Graphic45 paper so I used Steampunk Spells for this one.  I needed a boy card so this paper will work.  I love this image of Mr. Seymour Bones, don't you?  The sketch for this one is from this weeks sketch challenge for Wednesday over at Splitcoast stampers.  Are you a member?  Always tons of inspiration every week. The little gears are from Prickley Pear a die, border punch from MS Drippy Goo, some distress ink, ribbon and bling to finish it off.  It had to go out today so no coloring on this one but it will be late!

Happy a safe Halloween everyone!

Mummy

Hello there,

It's time for some Inspiration featuring Prickley Pear stamps.  Today I chose to use Mummy.  I wanted to do a black, white and orange color scheme for this one. I wanted him standing on the pumpkin, added an extra web on the side and matching sentiment with spiders.  Added a few sequins, the little spiders came with the sequins and fabric banners. The border is also Prickley Pear. Colored with Copics of course and added a little distress ink in black soot. My inspiration was this diagonal paper that looks chalkboard and of course Mummy! Please stop by the Prickley Pear blog and see what the rest of the design team has for you this week.

Bat and Cat Scene

Hello there,

It time for some inspiration today featuring Prickley Pear stamps and matching dies.  I've created a spooky little night time scene and the stars are out tonight with a mummy cat and webby bat! I used mostly orange and black to create my scene and one of my favorite fibers to use is twine because it comes in every color, goes with any style and doesn't take up a lot of room on A2 size cards. Bokeh Word Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone,

Barb here to share a technique with you today called Bokeh.  It's a Japanese term which means blur or haze and is used in photography.  Here is an example of what I mean:

Here's what you need to get started: craft sheet, different sizes of circle dies, I used Spellbinders
circles LG and I only used the 3 smallest ones plus 2 small punches 3/4 and 1/2 in. Clear plastic
to cut a stencil, cutting machine, inks in 3 to 5 shades of the same color family I used ColorBox pigmant inks, finger daubers to apply ink in circles and tape to mask.

The first step to cut your stencil with the dies and punches.
I chose to make 5 sizes.  Try to work in odd numbers. Keep the circles spread
apart when you cut them out as shown above.

Next, stamp tree with VersaFine ink and emboss
with silver embossing powder on white cardstock.

Now its time to start adding the circles.  Starting with the largest circle and your lightest
color tape down the image and the stencil and add 5 light blue circles using your finger
dauber to color in each circle and leave some white space. See below.

Here's how that first color should look. 5 circles.

Wipe stencil off between colors and start with the next smallest circle
in the next color.  Work colors lightest to darkest. Work Circles largest to smallest.
It should look like this example. 2nd color, 5 circles.

3rd color, 7 circles

4th color, 7 circles

With the smallest circle I stenciled some silver. Always
working in odd numbers. 5th color, 9 circles.

Lastly here is my finished card.  I decided to add some white ink dots
with a finger dauber to tone the darker colors a bit. Also you can take a
tissue when dry and go over your image to remove some ink if you like.  I did.
I love this technique!  I hope you will give it a try.

Autumn Greetings

I'm playing over at the Unity Friday Friends with Flair challenge.  I love Unity Stamps!  I made this fall card for my sister its an Itty Bitty by Angie Blum called Autumn Greetings.  DP is BoBunny Autumn Song, Colored the image with Copics and airbrushed around the edges in 2 colors, cut the sentiment in half as to fit the die cut I wanted to use. I found these cute leaves at Pier 1.  They are table scatter but thought they would work well on cards!

The Eyes Have It

Happy Monday,

Time for some inspiration featuring Prickley Pear stamps .  I made a Halloween card featuring stamps from the new Fall/Winter releases.  I stamped The eyes have It on white cardstock with black ink then used Distress inks in mowed lawn, spiced marmalade and mustard seed to add color.  Then used deckle scissors to cut around image and added some distress ink in black soot.  Then added a few wiggle eyes!  I stamped the bats in Color Box inks: orange and green and fussy cut them.  There is a die that matches I just didn't have it yet when I made this card.  The background DP is from Graphic45 An Eerie Tale. Black embossed the sentiment. Got a minute?  You can check out the design team work on the Prickley Pear blog HERE and have 2 new team members Rita and Melissa and a guest designer for October as well. Enjoy!

Eat, Sleep, Play Football

Hello there,

I decided to make another card today.  This is an image from The Cat's Pajamas.  It's not a new image.  I've had it a while.  Never got around to coloring it up last year.  So here is what I came up with.  My inspiration for this card comes from this weeks Mojo Monday sketch and I'm playing over at Splitcoast Stampers today in the Tuesday Color challenge: yellow, orange and green.  Dessert was to add gold if it's NOT a Halloween card.  So I get extra credit!.  I added some gold Stickles and sequins.  Kinda looks like he's playing in leaves with the added flower soft.

Pointillism Poinsettia

Good Morning all,

It's time for some inspiration using Prickley Pear stamps .  I chose to use Poinsettia Bloom today and show a technique called Pointillism.  Using a series of dots to color the whole image or just around the image as I have using Copic markers. It's a lot of fun!  HERE is a link to this technique from Splitcoast stampers. After coloring the image I used my Distress Ink in Peeled Paint around the edges then sprinkled some chunky white embossing power and heated it from the bottom of image to melt. Added some yellow and gold Stickles for a little sparkle.  You can go check out the Prickley Pear Blog to see what the rest of the design team has to share today.
