Barb's Custom border with PPRS dies tutorial

Good morning everyone!  Barb here with a quick and easy tutorial for making a custom border with PPRS dies. I found this technique HERE while surfing blogs and thought It was a great idea, one I have never seen.  If you don't own a lot of border dies but have some smaller single dies this technique will work well.  So lets get started.

Supplies:  small single dies with matching stamps, ruler, pencil, ink pad, card stock,  Big Shot, Cuttlebug or other machine to cut the dies.

First you need to decide what size card you want to do, mine is an A2 size.
Then add your layers of paper and that last layer will be what you will use for the border so
have that size worked out. It's my top layer.

Take your pencil and ruler, measure a 1/2 in from the right side
and draw a line. You can use any side.  I decided mine would be on the right.

Now lay out your dies cut side down on the pencil line only about half of the die
should be on either side of the line. Now here's where it gets tricky.  You only want
to cut up to that line.  Not all the way! Also you might want to tape the dies down so
they don't move.  I'm using a magnetic base plate.

Once your dies are cut, remove them and cut away any little
bits left on that pencil line.

Now comes the fun part!  Stamp your images!

Here's my finished card!

I hope you will give this fun and easy tutorial a try!

Happy Stamping!

His First Love

Happy Friday everyone!

I colored up some images this week and thought I would share this one.  It's one of the digi's I won this month from Squigglefly.  My bother-in-law's birthday was yesterday, sorry this is going to be late.
Anyway, he has a truck just like this one!!!  And although he probably doesn't go out to the garage and actually hug his truck he does keep very good care of it.  Covers it even in the garage, it has lots of chrome and is very loud! So he should appreciate this one!  I colored it red just like his. Guy cards are always a challenge for me but this was too easy! Love when that happens. Check out Squigglefly!  They have a lot of great images!

Embossed Birthday card

Hi Everyone,

Just popping in to share a birthday card I sent to our grandaughter yesterday. She is 22 and graduating from college next month! I have a fun technique to share today called Dry Emboss Resist.

Here is what you will need to make this card:
craft sheet, clear embossing powder, VersaMark stamp pad, heat gun, Copic markers,
Copic colorless blender, paper towel, airbrush, embossing folder, copic paper.

Lets get started:
Emboss design on white paper, now rub the VersaMark pad across image on the raised
areas only.  Don't press to hard.  Now add the embossing powder on the whole image, heat it
will look shiney when its done.  let cool then add color with airbrush to any area you wish. Now
take colorless blender applied to a paper towel and rub those highlighted areas only until you
achieve the look you want. You can go back in and add color if you've rubber too much away.
You're done!  Very easy technique. It can be used with any alcohol based inks.

Here's my finished piece!

Other supplies I used on this card:
brads: Eyelet outlet, Hobby Lobby
pearls: Kaisercraft
candy dots: Doodlebug, CN crafts
Mushroom die: Cheery Lyn
gold embossing powder: Stampendous
